🔴 PARENTS & GUARDIANS — PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO CHECK YOUR CHILD 🏫 As we prepare to welcome students back to school, we are asking every parent and guardian to take a few minutes before sending your child to school to check them for any unusual sores, irritated areas, rashes, or other signs of a possible skin infection. ❗When in doubt, please have your child checked before sending them to school. 👩‍⚕️ If you have questions or concerns about your child returning to school, please contact the school nurse at your child's school. Our school nurses are available to help answer questions and provide guidance to our families. 🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE — WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS Wyoming County Schools would like to provide families and staff with the latest information regarding school operations. The following three schools will remain CLOSED through Friday: • Mullens Elementary & Middle School • Wyoming East High School • Westside High School ServPro is continuing the cleaning and sanitation process at these three schools. Wyoming County Schools will also continue communicating closely with the Wyoming County Health Department as we move forward. ALL OTHER WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS WILL RETURN TO SCHOOL TOMORROW. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Extracurricular activities may also resume tomorrow for schools returning to regular operations, provided those activities are not being held at Wyoming East High School or Westside High School. All extracurricular activities involving or taking place at Wyoming East High School and Westside High School remain suspended at this time. LOOKING AHEAD TO MONDAY Our goal is for all Wyoming County Schools to resume normal operations on Monday. This will be contingent upon receiving satisfactory air quality assessments, completion of ServPro’s cleaning and sanitation process, and clearance from the Wyoming County Health Department. Once those measures have been completed and the appropriate clearance has been received, all schools and extracurricular activities will resume normal operations on Monday. We appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our students, staff, families, and community. We know these changes can be disruptive, but the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We will continue to keep our families and staff informed and will provide additional information as it becomes available. 🚌 Our team is hard at work today! As part of our countywide cleaning efforts, our bus drivers are taking extra time to thoroughly clean and disinfect our school buses. We are incredibly thankful for our transportation staff and everyone across Wyoming County Schools who is stepping up and doing their part to help provide a clean and safe environment for our students and staff. IMPORTANT UPDATE — WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS Due to new information received regarding the current skin-related health concern, Wyoming County Schools will be taking additional precautionary measures. ALL WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW, OCTOBER 6. This countywide closure will allow for a thorough deep cleaning of our school facilities as an added precaution to protect the health and well-being of our students and staff. WYOMING EAST & WESTSIDE: Wyoming East High School and Westside High School will remain closed beyond tomorrow until further guidance is received from the Wyoming County Health Department and all necessary cleaning by ServPro has been completed. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: There will be no extracurricular activities anywhere in Wyoming County Schools today, October 5, or tomorrow, October 6. This includes practices, games, and other school-related extracurricular events. The situation will be reevaluated following tomorrow, and additional guidance will be provided regarding when activities may resume. For Wyoming East High School and Westside High School, all extracurricular activities will remain suspended until further notice. HEALTH INFORMATION: At this time, Wyoming County Schools has not received an official diagnosis identifying the specific type of skin infection involved. We understand there may be speculation within the community, but we want to be careful to share only information that has been confirmed by the appropriate health officials. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We understand that these closures and cancellations create an inconvenience for our families, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we take these additional precautions. 📚 Pineville Elementary School Reading Fair 📚 Pineville Elementary School held its Reading Fair on September 29th, and we are so proud of all of our students who participated! Each student worked hard to create a project based on a book they read, and we were impressed by their creativity, effort, and love of reading. 🎉 Congratulations to all of our participants! 🎉 A special congratulations goes to our First, Second, and Third Place winners! Your hard work and dedication truly showed in your projects. 🏆 First Place Winners will have the exciting opportunity to represent Pineville Elementary School at the County Reading Fair on October 12th. We wish our first-place winners the very best as they move on to the county competition! We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our students. It’s Homecoming Week! Wyoming East and its feeder schools will release three hours early on Thursday, October 1, so our students, staff, and families can join in the WEHS Homecoming Parade festivities! We look forward to coming together and celebrating our Warriors! Go Warriors!

Thursday, September 17, 2026 Pineville Elementary and Middle Schools Bus 201 Lola will not be running this evening Bus 375. Tammy will be bringing those students home. Students that live in Bowman’s Bottom and Keyrock will be approximately 20 minutes late this evening.

On Friday, Pineville Elementary School Kindergarten students had a very special visitor, National Guard member Justin Grimmett! 🇺🇸 Justin read to our students and talked with them about the National Guard, the important work they do, and the many ways they have recently helped communities across West Virginia. Our students loved learning more about the National Guard and the important role they play in serving and protecting our communities. Thank you, Justin, for taking time out of your day to visit our classroom and educate our students! We truly appreciate you! 🇺🇸

Yesterday, our kindergarten students at Pineville Elementary School were excited to welcome Zac Butcher and Jeff Greene from STAT EMS! They took the time to read a book to our students, teach them about what EMS does, and give them an up-close look at an ambulance. The students even got to walk through the ambulance, listen to the sirens, and take home their very own coloring books! Our students had such a fun and exciting time learning about the important work EMS does in our community. ❤️ Thank you, Zac and Jeff, for taking time out of your day to visit us, teach our students, and make this visit so special! We are so grateful for our community helpers! 🚑📚
