On Friday, Pineville Elementary School Kindergarten students had a very special visitor, National Guard member Justin Grimmett! 🇺🇸
Justin read to our students and talked with them about the National Guard, the important work they do, and the many ways they have recently helped communities across West Virginia.
Our students loved learning more about the National Guard and the important role they play in serving and protecting our communities.

Yesterday, our kindergarten students at Pineville Elementary School were excited to welcome Zac Butcher and Jeff Greene from STAT EMS! They took the time to read a book to our students, teach them about what EMS does, and give them an up-close look at an ambulance. The students even got to walk through the ambulance, listen to the sirens, and take home their very own coloring books!
Our students had such a fun and exciting time learning about the important work EMS does in our community. ❤️

Assistant Chief Fireman Mike Johnson came to visit our kindergarten students at Pineville Elementary School and shared all about being a firefighter. He read a story to our students, gave them the opportunity to see the awesome fire truck, and even let them see the lights and hear the horn and siren! 🚨
Our kids absolutely loved this hands-on experience! ❤️ We are so thankful that you took time out of your busy day to visit us and teach our students about firefighters, fire safety, and the important work you do in our community.

From August 7–14, you can make a difference by donating new school supplies that will go directly to local students in need. The bus will be parked in the board office parking lot. It will be unlocked from 9 AM to 3 PM daily.

🎵Pineville Elementary School 4th grade students in Lori Leather’s music class were introduced to the keyboards. 🎉🎹🎶 They started simple with a song they already knew on the recorders, playing multiple times to give everyone a turn on the keyboards. 📢 Calendar Update for Wyoming County Schools
While the West Virginia Department of Education approved our waiver request for four snow days, we did have one additional snow day after the waiver was approved (March 17, 2026).
As a result, one day has been added to the end of our school calendar.

📅 Last day for teachers: June 8
Thank you for your flexibility as we wrap up the school year!

It's Official! Mrs. Mary Brown's and Mrs. Sara Walker's students at Pineville Elementary School are published authors! They worked very hard to create their book about friendship, kindness, and helping others. Congratulations!
